A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.

This represents his first trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.

Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 various competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his last six title deciders, comprising in that event previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and regular emotional displays on court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional victory, took control to push for a third set.

He saved four initial chances in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, he clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
